Slowed Cooked, Lamb Al Asador for a Special Birthday

When planning an event, people often wonder how to impress their guests by adding a unique twist to the menu on offer. Cooking using smoke and fire is a great way to inject theatre into your day while creating an exciting sight that both entertains and delivers outstanding food.

This well-known business leader in Chichester needed show-stopping, delicious food for his wife’s 50th birthday in 2017. Using a South American cooking technique, we produced an authentic, flavoursome delight.

BBQ Alternative with a Twist

We were put into contact with the client by a bespoke events and consultancy firm, having been recommended as a great match for this project. We provided quotes and worked closely with the events team to deliver an experience to wow guests, producing a menu full of flavour and perfect for the Summer season.

For such a special occasion, our client wanted to create a visually exciting experience as guests walked into the party rather than a standard BBQ which so many provide in the warmer months. Luckily, there are other styles of cooking which offer a fantastic alternative for those looking to serve food with a difference.

A Visual Treat with Delicious Flavours

Asado cooking involves the grilling of food over an open wood-fire, gently creating delicate flavours in the meat while slow-roasting for succulent texture and amazing taste.

Producing an impressive sight and aromas to stimulate the senses, we slowly cooked three whole lambs over the Asado with chimichurri and salsa criolla. Serving in flatbreads once finished made for easy consumption, reflecting the party-atmosphere.

As you can see from the images of the day, the visuals of the lamb cooking over the asado are mouth-wateringly good with the whole display and presentation adding an extra special touch to the event.

Was It a Birthday to Remember?

The food certainly looks enticing, but what did our clients think?

“A thousand thanks from Lucy and me for a brilliant job on Saturday. From start to finish with the quotations and planning you were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The Asado went down a storm and Andrew and Jane were thrilled with how everything went. They have had so many compliments about your food and your great team – thank you so much. As Lucy said, you added fantastic theatre and it all went brilliantly.”

A huge thumbs up to our talented team!
